  Tattle Tail Tuesday

  You probably know these humans.  They are pretty big celebrities, this time of year.

  
  

  

  So imagine my surprise when I find out that these are my Bean's Grandparents.  My jaw nearly hit the floor - not that I have that far too go, since I stand only foot off the ground.  But still.

  "So how come you turn out to be baby eating ogress?" I ask.

  She denies of course.  She always denies any allegations that she doesn't like children, says it's all a smear campaign against her.  But on her own bloggie she admits that she likes them with a bit of Bar-B-Que sauce.  She and her ogress friends even swap recipes!

  "Hey," she says.  "You're not so fond of the little tail grabbers yourself."  This is true.  They tried to put glitter glues in my lovely black coat.  But we make our peace.  I allow them to put their colorings on my blog.  And I know they read my blog all the time, they tell me so themselves.

  At least she is not a total scrooge and does have some holiday spirit, even if she is a witch.  Which is another thing...

  I did not know Santa Claws was Wiccan.  "He's not..." she groans, but tells me I should leave off the religigous stuff.  I guess she get into it with her family all the time.  She says her mother accept it, but rest of her family tell her she going to burn in hell.  She laugh at this, and point out that Dante's Inferno is not a book in the bible.

  Irregardless.  I supposed it's not a terrible thing not to like little humans.  She is certainly not the only one of her species who feel that way as she has friends who not really fond of them either.  But then, their grandparents are not one of the great cultural icons of the civilized world.

  And children seem to like her.  They look up to her, I do not know why.  Although she will be the first to admit she is not a very good role model.  Although she has cleaned up her act some and does not drink any more.

  Anyway, I feel I should tell you this in case you are coming by our house this holiday season with little ones.  Be sure to put Sphinx medallions on them to ward off the baby eating ogress I live with.

  Notes: To answer some of the questions this tattle will likely raise - Beans grandparents have both crossed over rainbow bridge and the physical manifestations of the spirit of giving have passed on to others.  The outfits were hand made by her grandmother.  Bean has little or no talent in the sewing area, and supposedly cannot even cut a piece of cloth with a pattern on it.  They held court during the holiday season at Shaker Square in Ohio where thousands of children would come each year to see the "real" St. Nick.  The "Santa suit" has become part of a power struggle in her family that she stay out of.  She says she tried to stay out of anything to do with her family as much as possible.  She not like them either.
